Wellness is the state of being in good health, especially as an actively pursued goal. To me that means to be both physically and mentally healthy. Most people just think about what their body looks like when they think of being healthy, but there is so much more to it than that. Being happy with yourself and realizing that you are your own person will make any fitness or health related journey so much easier. Once you stop comparing yourself to everyone else around you, and start comparing yourself to who you were yesterday and the day before that, you will be able to make positive changes in your life. This is something that I have been working on with myself and something I have seen in the people in my life. The happiest people I know are the ones who love who they are and who they have become, and don’t really care what anyone else thinks or says about them. If you can’t love yourself, then how can you commit to making health related changes in your life? You need to surround yourself with people who love you for you, and people who want to see you do amazing things. In the wise words of my man Will Smith you need to surround yourself with people who “feed your flame”.
So actively pursue wellness. Be physically active, be actively involved in your nutrition, actively work toward the things in life that make you happiest, and actively engage in the lives of the people who make you feel like the amazing person you are. Life is too short to “settle for silver“, but it is never too late to invest in yourself.
